One of the most interesting side effects of this new “running” thing I’m trying is what it’s doing to my feet. For starters, I rarely wear shoes down here in SA, so my feet are dried out and not in the best condition to begin with. Add on about 16 miles of running time and the results aren’t pretty — namely, a bunch of gnarly blisters. 

Nothing painful. Actually, I take a weird sort of pride in them. I think I’ll be kinda sad when they go away. 

Why I’m Running:

I want to raise enough money to sponsor two promising African ladies: Elaine and Mandisa.  It costs $80 so sponsor Mandisa for one month of Imagine Scholar costs — this amount pays for her transport, healthy food in class, school supplies, and many other things.
