So I thought I would take some time this week to talk about Mandisa and Elaine. They are the reason I’m running—I want to cover their Imagine Scholar costs for an entire year.

Mandisa’s been wonderful lately. We are both reading the Harry Potter series for the first time. Even though I had a two-week head start on her, she is already catching up and will surpass me soon. We are having a very excellent time discussing the books! Mandisa is an ideal student—she does well in all her subjects, she supports and encourages her peers both in school and at Imagine Scholar, and she’s cute as a button.

Elaine as well has been excellent. Her peers elected her president of Imagine Scholar’s Class of 2015 and she’s risen to the challenge. She’s also doing really well at her high school. At a recent assembly, the school recognized top academic achievement in each subject. Elaine was recognized for 6 of the 11 subjects—each time going to the front of the school to receive her award.

Both of these students have benefited tremendously from their time at Imagine Scholar, but they’ve also helped their fellow students. Elaine and Mandisa have emerged as the leaders of the class and always do a wonderful job in class contributing ideas and sharing their thoughts.

Why I’m Running:

I want to raise enough money to sponsor two promising African ladies: Elaine and Mandisa.  It costs $80 so sponsor Mandisa for one month of Imagine Scholar costs — this amount pays for her transport, healthy food in class, school supplies, and many other things. For Elaine, it’s $78. Lump those two together and you get $156/month. Multiply that out my 12 months and you get a very achievable fundraising goal: $1,896. Please donate at my Crowdrise page here:
